A two-day republican seminar titled "Development of Regional Education and Implementation of Key Reforms" is being held, jointly organized by Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and Nazarbayev University.
The seminar aims to enhance the strategic competencies of regional education leaders and to explore effective approaches for the development, implementation, and support of educational reforms. Emphasis is placed on integrating international experience and best practices into regional education systems.
Director of the Department of Advanced Training Programs of the Higher School of Education Zhanyl Zhontaeva made an opening speech, extending her best wishes for its successful outcomes.
In her keynote speech titled “Regional Educational Policy and Artificial Intelligence: Present and Future”, Beibitkul Karimova, Chair of the Board and Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, highlighted the achievements to date and outlined the key priorities moving forward.
She emphasized: “Our goal is not merely to keep pace with technological progress, but to actively shape the future of education by enhancing its accessibility and effectiveness through the integration of artificial intelligence.”
She also noted the significant opportunities for regional development, stating: “Taking into account regional specificities and global trends, we see immense potential for the growth of IT and AI. Equipping future specialists with AI competencies across economic fields is vital, as the automation of business, education, and the broader economy hinges on advancements in IT and AI.”
She further added that the region’s well-developed transport infrastructure provides a strong foundation for exporting IT and AI services to neighboring countries over the next 10–15 years—an area where the demand for qualified specialists is expected to increase significantly.

She addressed the anticipated threat of job shortages in the near future due to ongoing global transformations and technological advancements. She highlighted current trends in higher education, emphasizing the growing importance of digital literacy and the ability to work effectively with digital resources. The Vice Rector noted that leading countries in education are actively implementing a range of digital tools and AI technologies into their educational systems. She provided examples of the latest AI tools such as Brisk, EssayGrader.ai, CoGrader that can be used in teaching and learning. She underlined the necessity for academic staff to integrate these tools into teaching and learning processes, thereby ensuring that students are prepared for the demands of the future labor market.
In conclusion, Dana Meiramovna stressed that educational institutions must focus on preparing graduates who are capable of managing and utilizing artificial intelligence effectively, in order to achieve optimal results in their professional activities.
