Week of Korean Studies: Students returned with prizes

The Fifth Week of Korean Studies was held at the Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages. This was implemented with the support of Chung Ang University in Korea, the Consul of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, the Korean Educational Center in Almaty, the Association of Korean Companies in Kazakhstan, the Korean Foundation and the Korean Studies Promotion Service (AKS). The event was attended by 120 people from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Korea. 

On the first day of the event, 22 participants showed their work at the eighth academic conference of Korean Studies among the CIS countries. Akerke Dastanovna, a student of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, defended a research project on the Korean language writing system “Hangeul". She also presented a study of the history of the writing system of Korean language, its structure and the origin of the Hunminjongeum.

On the second day, students from 26 universities participated in the speakers' competition of the 13th Olympiad of the CIS countries.

Nuraim Sabyr, a student of our university, took part in the competition, who made a presentation on the topic "Travelling".

According to the results of the competition, Nuraim Sabyr took the third place, overtaking 26 students from 6 countries. 

This event was a great opportunity for students to develop their academic research and speaking skills in Korean.
