Beibitkul Karimova: "The support of women scientists is very important"
April 12 - Science Day in Kazakhstan
"In order for the projects of scientists, including women scientists, to be successful, it is important to create favorable conditions for them. It is impossible not to note the strength and creativity of a mother woman, who, along with men, doing science, conducts relentless research and carries the routine of everyday life. Women face the same requirements as men, on an equal basis, and no concessions are made, everyone is equal in science," Beibitkul Sarsemkhanovna said at the round table "Women in Science: Achievements, problems and opportunities", which was held today at the Ana Tagzym center.
"She also highlighted the support of the state and achievements in the field of science. In the country, doctoral scholarships have increased by 80%. From now on, these scholarships will grow annually by 15% and are projected to reach 260,000 tenge by 2025. This year, efforts are underway to send '500 Scientists' for internships at leading scientific centers around the world and to allocate 1,000 grants within the framework of the 'Zhas Galym' project. Currently, approximately 70% of the faculty at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University are women. In 2023, the university completed 27 projects, among which 7 (30%) were led by women as scientific supervisors: Karimova B. S., Sauytbayeva G. Z., Oralova G. S., Kamisheva G. A., Mustafayeva A. A., Aubakirova K. K. – 2 projects, and Abdrasheva D. M."
In total, 169 scientists were involved in research projects, 88 of them female scientists, 44 of them (50%) were young female scientists under the age of 40.
It is worth noting that the chairman of the board - Rector of the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Beibitkul Sarsemkhanovna, is the head of the direction of "support for women in science" for the regional branch of the Amanat party.
