A meeting on the topic "Presumption of innocence" was held at Korkyt Ata University

A meeting on the topic "Presumption of innocence" was held at Korkyt Ata University, organized by the Kyzylorda Regional Court and the Human Rights Office, organized by the Public Association "Kadir Kasiyet" with the support of the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).

The event was attended by well-known experts in the field of law, director of PA "Kadir Kasiyet", Candidate of Law Anar Nurlybaevna, senior lecturer at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aybar Nurkhan, regional representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights Dauren Saktapbergenovich, Chairman of the Shieli District Court Nurzhan Nuraddinovich.
The meeting discussed the importance of reforms in the judicial and law enforcement system, emphasized in the Message of the Head of State "Constructive public dialogue – the basis for stability and prosperity of Kazakhstan." The presumption of innocence is considered as one of the basic principles of criminal proceedings, and its role in the protection of human rights is comprehensively differentiated.

Experts also focused on the issues of refraining from convicting suspects and accusers before passing a lawful sentence, and the development of a legal culture in society.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of forming a legal culture was noted, and students were urged to develop legal awareness and respect the laws.
