A round table was held with the participation of foreign scientists on the ecological state of the Aral Sea

A round table on the ecological status of the Aral Sea with the participation of scientists from Russia and Japan was held at the International Center for the Study of Ecosystems of the Aral Region of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Mainura Buribayeva, Head of the Laboratory of Saltwater Hydrobiology at the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a well-known international expert on the Aral Sea Nikolai Aladin, a researcher in international relations at Nagoya University Chida Tetsuro, a researcher at the Institute of Zoology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgarbai Konisbayev, and Professor at Tottori University (Japan) Jiro Iida, representative of the Japanese Embassy in Kazakhstan Komiya Shimion, and university scientists.

"In the future, it is planned to implement a number of projects to study and restore the Aral Sea and its ecological state. Partnership relations with scientists from Russia and Japan will continue to be strengthened in this direction. This is due to the fact that the ecological state of the Aral Sea has become the subject of worldwide attention. The event is an important step towards solving this problem," said Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Rakhat Kurmanbayev.

Foreign scientists discussed the lowering of the Aral Sea level and its consequences, the impact on the environment, as well as the living and economic conditions of the local population. In addition, he noted the importance of implementing various scientific projects to solve the environmental problems of the Aral Sea region. At the same time, in order to restore the environment, it became necessary to introduce modern scientific achievements and innovative technologies.
