The Aral Sea: Environmental problems and solutions

A round table dedicated to March 26, the Day of the Aral Sea, was held at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the environmental problems of the Aral Sea and increase regional environmental literacy. At the same time, the promotion of environmental research and educational projects of the scientific community and youth.

During the round table, scientists discussed measures aimed at improving the condition of the Aral Sea, paying special attention to the importance of scientific research and innovative solutions.

The meeting was attended by Mainura Buribayeva, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Nurlybek Akhatayev, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Nikolay Aladin, Head of the Laboratory of Saltwater Hydrobiology at the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Zeynulla Kaztoganov, an international expert on the Aral Sea, Head of the Aral-Syrdarya Basin Inspectorate for Regulation, Protection and Use of Water Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhumadil Shildebayev, Professor at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, Rimma Turekeldiyeva, Associate Professor at the National University of Water Management and Irrigation, environmental scientist, Sarah Adaibayeva, environmental correspondent for the Kyzylorda regional newspaper "Syr Boyy", Marat Nurmagambetov, head of the Kyzylorda Regional Territorial Inspectorate of Forestry and Wildlife and undergraduates.
