Serikbai Koshkarov, a professor at the University, was awarded the Parasat Order.

In Astana, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented state awards to a group of scientists who have made a special contribution to the development of science in the country. This solemn event is a sign of high respect for Kazakh science and education.

During the ceremony, the Head of State, addressing the scientific community, said:

"The path of science is a difficult path. Only people who are dedicated, persistent, hardworking, innovative and creative can cope with difficulties on the way to science. If we want to become a truly advanced, thoughtful nation, we need to exalt and root these qualities in society. Great Abai also advised one time: "Do not boast without acquiring knowledge." In the current era of rapid technological development, we must pay close attention to systems research, deep knowledge and science. I specifically raised this issue during the national congress in Borovoye. At the same time, the scientific community has a special responsibility. After all, a scientist is the light of the nation," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

During this meeting, Serikbai Imanbayevich Koshkarov, Professor of the educational program Water and Land Management at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, was awarded the Order of Parasat (Wisdom) for his many years of fruitful work in the field of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Serikbai Koshkarov was born in 1945 in the Syrdarya region ofKyzylorda oblast. In 1959-1963, he studied at Kyzylorda Hydro-Reclamation College, then graduated from the Zhambyl Hydro-Reclamation and Construction Institute with a degree in Hydro-reclamation. In 1968-1969, he worked as a construction foreman for a rice irrigation system in the village of Tasboget. In 1970-1978, he worked as a senior researcher, head of the laboratory of the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Rice Farming.

In 1978, he defended his PhD in Technical Sciences at the Moscow Institute of Hydro-Reclamation, and in 1997 he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the Moscow State University for the Coordination of Nature. He worked as the head of the department at the Kyzylorda branch of the Zhambyl Hydro-Reclamation and Construction Institute, then the two higher educational institutions merged and contributed to the formation of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University.

There are 2 monographs, 3 textbooks, 2 methodological manuals and more than 150 scientific articles published by the scientist. His scientific achievements and experience make a significant contribution to the development of the country's water management, ecology and agricultural science sectors.

For his valiant work, he was awarded the badge "Excellent Student of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the jubilee medal "Kazakhstan Republikasyn Tauelsizdigine 10 zhyl", the Order of "Kurmet", the medal "For Merits in the development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the title "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the badge of Akhmet Baitursynov.

This honorary award is the result of the scientist's solid contribution and hard work to the development of science and education in the country.
