The dual degree program was widely discussed

A delegation from Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), led by its President, Professor Don Hwan Kim, arrived on an official visit to Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University to advance collaboration on a dual degree program.

As part of the visit, an official meeting was held between Professor Don Hwan Kim, Chairman of the Board–Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Beibitkul Karimova, and the Head of the Internationalization Department of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rauza Mendaliyeva. The central focus of the discussion was the development and implementation of the dual degree program.

The meeting was also attended by members of the university's Board, Vice-Rectors, and representatives of the SeoulTech delegation. Key discussion points included the issues of organizing the content and implementation of dual degree educational programs, developing academic mobility of students, appointing scientific supervisors from SeoulTech University for the preparation of PhD, the involvement of Korean researchers, and the development of joint scientific projects. Attention was also paid to strategic initiatives such as attracting Korean scientists, sharing experiences between faculty members, and jointly implementing modern technologies.

Professor Don Hwan Kim remarked:

“This initiative is being actively supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea. We are currently designing a new international education model for foreign students. Once the project is successfully launched, graduates of the bachelor’s program will be eligible to continue their studies in master’s and doctoral programs. If you send us talented students, we are ready to offer full scholarships for postgraduate education.”

This high-level meeting marked a significant step in strengthening the collaborative partnership between the two universities. The agreements reached will provide students and faculty members with expanded academic and research opportunities, international exposure, and pathways to engage on the global stage.
