Legal Literacy: is a key to the future of youth

Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University hosted a meeting between students and representatives from the Kyzylorda region police department. The main goal of the event was to foster a legal culture among young people, prevent drug-related crime, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The Vice-Rector for social and educational work of the university, Zhandos Bazartai, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the importance of increasing legal literacy among young people. He noted that the formation of a legal culture is a shared task not only for law enforcement agencies, but for society as a whole. Furthermore, he highlighted that young people's knowledge of the law is a manifestation of their responsible attitude towards their future. The event was attended by the First deputy chief of the Kyzylorda region police department, police colonel Serik Toktybayev, specialists from the departments for combating drug-related crime and cybercrime, the Deputy director of the regional mental health center Aman Tursynov, and the Deputy Chairman of the «Jastar Ruhy» youth wing of the «Amanat» party, Nurbol Serikbay.

During the meetings, which took place in the main academic building, as well as in academic buildings №5 and №9, students were provided with detailed information about the harm of drugs to human life and society, the consequences of offenses, and the importance of public order. Also there were fulfilled explanatory works on the importance of increasing legal literacy and the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
