A Skilled Poet of National Status

The Kyzylorda Regional Kazakh Academic Musical and Drama Theater named after N. Bekezhanov hosted a creative evening titled "Yelge Arnau" ("Dedication to the Nation"), dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Baltabai Nurzhanov – an outstanding figure of Kazakh art, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Composers and Journalists of Kazakhstan, art researcher, associate professor, kuishi-composer, and veteran of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

The solemn event brought together members of the intelligentsia, the artistic community, young performers, and students.

Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Zhandos Bazartai, delivered a congratulatory speech. On behalf of the university rector, he presented Baltabai Sarsenbayevich with a letter of appreciation and the honorary badge "Best Teacher."

From 1990 to 2008, the composer served as an associate professor in the Department of Musical Instruments at the university.

Baltabai Nurzhanov is the author of nearly 60 kyuis, a number of thematic kyui-compositions, and over 40 songs. Additionally, he orchestrated more than 50 works, making a significant contribution to the professional development of Kazakh musical art.

The work of such distinguished individuals — true pillars of national culture — has always been highly valued and deeply respected.
