“Abai” Platform – Artificial Intelligence Reviving the Legacy of the Great Thinker

A student of the Artificial Intelligence Institute at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Ernur Kanat, has developed an innovative project that combines Kazakh spiritual heritage and modern technology – an AI system called “Abai”. This initiative offers a new opportunity to preserve Kazakh culture and effectively convey it to the younger generation.

The project’s goal is to revive Abai Kunanbayuly’s Words of Edification and philosophical legacy through artificial intelligence, as well as to advance Kazakh-language language models. By doing so, it adapts Kazakh literature, culture, and philosophical traditions to the digital age, presenting them to young people in an accessible and engaging form. 

The forty-sixth Word of Edification by the great thinker Abai Kunanbayuly has been digitized and recreated with the help of AI in the image of Abai. 

What capabilities does the “Abai” program offer?

- Explains Abai’s Words of Edification in modern language;

- Analyzes his works and thoughts from a philosophical perspective; 

- Answers questions using Kazakh-based natural language models; 

- Serves as a useful cognitive assistant for school and university students; 

- Contributes significantly to the development of the Kazakh language in the IT sphere. 

“Abai” is not just a chatbot – it is the point where national consciousness meets technology. Abai’s deep thoughts, moral and ethical principles, and reflections on humanity are now presented to each young person in a clear and engaging way.
