Korkyt Ata University Graduate – Aidos Sultangali Becomes World Champion

Aidos Sultangali, graduate of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and member of the Kazakhstan national Greco-Roman wrestling team, achieved a historic victory after 26 years.

At the World Championships held in Zagreb (Croatia), our compatriot dominated in the 60 kg weight category and claimed the world champion title. In the final, he defeated Uzbekistan’s Alisher Ganiev with an early 9:0 victory, securing the gold medal.

It should be noted that Aidos Sultangali had previously won bronze medals at the World Championships in 2018 and 2022. This triumph marks Kazakhstan’s first gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling since 1999.
