The issue of wastewater disposal needs to be solved

There was organized a seminar on «Developing Scientific and Practical Foundations for Preventing Water Scarcity in the Climate Change Context» at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

The informative event is held within «Development of Safe Wastewater Disposal Technology for Irrigation of Forage Crops and Afforestation in Conditions of Water Scarcity in Kyzylorda Region» project. On the seminar-conference there were considered mechanisms for discussing scientific solutions and exchanging experiences aimed at the sustainable development of regional agriculture in the conditions of climate change and water scarcity. Monographs prepared within the project were also presented, and participants shared their scientific reports on the effective use of water resources.

The moderator of the event, project leader, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Serikbay Umirzakov, emphasized the importance of the seminar and the relevance of searching for environmentally friendly and effective solutions in water scarcity conditions.

During the seminar, the leading researcher of the Landscape Science and Natural Resource Management Laboratory at the Geography and Water Security Institute, Jumakhan Mustafaev, gave a report on «Scientific and Theoretical Foundations of Wastewater Disposal in Land Reclamation». Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Ibadulla Tautenov presented his scientific conclusions on the wastewater impact on the yield and quality of forage crops.

Associate Professor of the «Architecture and Construction» educational program Abzal Shegenbaev presented a report on «Technical and Technological Schemes for Wastewater Treatment in Modular Stations», highlighting the effectiveness of water treatment technologies.

Additionally, Associate Professor of the «Water Management and Land Management» educational program Kairat Akylbaev raised questions about the preparation of arable land and the organization of irrigation regimes. The Deputy Director of Natural Sciences Institute, Erlan Shynbergenov, shared his experience in using unmanned aerial vehicles for instrumental monitoring of forage crops and afforestation in the Kyzylorda region.

Researcher Indira Espanova from the «Physico-Chemical Methods of Analysis» engineering laboratory and master's student Ulan Alikhan from the EE-24-1m study group shared their thoughts on the technology of using renewable energy sources in agriculture. Meruert Tolegenovna, a laboratory engineer specializing in physicochemical analysis methods, presented the results of obtaining sorbents from rice waste in Kyzylorda region and research into their sorption properties. Almasbek Berdibek, a Master of Agricultural Sciences, voiced scientifically substantiated recommendations for optimizing the water regime and utilizing wastewater under conditions of water scarcity for sorghum crops.

At the end of the seminar, participants were awarded special certificates.
