The Vice Minister got acquainted with the potential of the university

During her visit to Aral Sea region, Gulzat Kobenova Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the potential of the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University. 

Beybitkul Karimova, Chairman of the Board–Rector of the University, met the Vice Minister, and first of all, showed the specialized classrooms of the academic building No. 1 during the campus tour. Next, Gulzat Kobenova got acquainted with scientific articles and literary works dedicated to the freedom fighter of Kazakh people, Mustafa Shokai, and received valuable information from the Shokai Studies center. The working group headed by the Vice Minister also got acquainted with the construction of the library, which will be equipped with modern study materials. The facility, designed to broaden the horizons of researchers, will own about 2 million books. After discussing the work processes with the builders, Gulzat Kobenova expressed confidence in the high-quality and timely completion of the large-scale reconstruction. 

The distinguished guest also visited the newly opened in the «Open space» concept library of the Students' Palace. The Open Space service, equipped with modern computers, laptops, a conference room for 30 people, a small hall for 10 people and individual students’ seats for 40 people, was highly appreciated. During the inspection, the Vice Minister showed a special interest in rare and valuable books. The importance of the multi-volume collection, written in ancient Korean in the 18th century, was particularly noted. The guest's attention was also drawn to the Koran book, published in Kazan in 1907. 

Additionally, the guests got acquainted with the living conditions of the university dormitory, designed for students and teachers. Recreation rooms and study halls are provided inside the dormitory for students’ effective leisure activities.

Next, the Vice Minister visited the International Center for Ecosystem Research of Aral Sea Region in academic building No. 9 and got acquainted with projects on landscaping the dried-up seabed. The works of the Zoological Museum, the educational and research laboratory of General and Inorganic Chemistry, Microbiology and Virology, and several scientific and methodological centers were also demonstrated.

Afterwards Gulzat Kobenova was met by young university scientists in Academic Building No. 5. The Vice-Minister was thoroughly briefed on the production developed by researchers, such as biocoal from shells and straw, terra preta, cellulose, and silicon dioxide. Furthermore, there was presented an exhibition of joint projects with Seoul National Science and Technology University of the Republic of Korea. Students shared their achievements in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and robotics, also they outlined their ambitious plans.

Following the working trip, the group led by Gulzat Izbasarova contributed to the landscaping effort by planting trees in the Botanical Garden. They also visited a greenhouse where the autumn harvesting had already begun. The Vice-Minister highly praised the work of the main educational center of Aral Sea region, which is successfully developing not only scientific and practical achievements, but also cultural, sports, and socio-social potential of the region.
