There was held «I Am a Child of the Sea» a creative and compositional evening, dedicated to the labor of Shanzharkhan Bekmagambetov

Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata hosted an evening entitled «I Am a Child of the Sea», dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Shanzharkhan Bekmagambetov, poet, candidate of philological sciences, and associate professor of the educational program «Kazakh Language, Literature, and Journalism».

Shanzharhan Bekmagambetov is a member of the Writers' Union of the International Kazakh Creative Association «Peaceful world», a candidate of philological sciences, and a poet. He was born on October 22, 1950, in Kaskakulan village, Aral District, Kyzylorda Region.

The scientist is the founder of a new world-class scientific field – genetic linguistics (Kaz-GL – Kazakhstani Genetic Linguistics), dedicated to the origin and functioning of human language. He implements innovative scientific ideas in the field of language theory, language philosophy, and semiotics, and has been working for a quarter of a century to introduce genetic language theory and practice into everyday life.

He is the author of scientific works such as «Structural and Semantic Features of Complex Sentences in the Kazakh Language» (2009), «Fundamentals of Language Cognition and Language Symbols» (1999), «Genetics of Language: The Semiotic System of the Language Sign» (2014), as well as the textbook «7 Lectures on the Theory of Genetic Linguistics» (2020) for students of higher educational institutions. In 2025, by decision of the Educational and Methodological Council of Science and Higher Education Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there was published Introduction to Genetic Linguistics, a two-volume textbook by the scientist for university students and teachers.

Additionally, he is the author of more than 70 scientific articles and «Notes in the Heart» collection of poems, published in 2010.

During the evening, students presented a detailed account of their mentor's life and creative legacy, expressively reading the poet's verses. Besides, the students' performances clearly revealed the theme and meaning of the evening.

The event served as a vivid illustration of the staff team's respect for the outstanding scientist and the creative explorations of the students.
