A meeting with the renowned poet Svetkali Nurzhan took place within the walls of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University

At Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, there was held a creative meeting with the famous poet Svetkali Nurzhan, a laureate of the State Prize named after Abai and a member of the National Assembly.

The meeting was attended intellectuals’ representatives, the university's faculty and teaching staff, guests from other regions, students and media representatives. Mainura Buribaeva, the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations gave a speech, highlighting the poet's significant contribution to Kazakh spirituality and presented him with the university's highest award – the «Golden Medal named after Korkyt Ata».

Svetkali Nurzhan is an outstanding representative of Kazakh literature, an author who has left an indelible mark on the spiritual history of the country. His poetry collections «Aruana», «Ai tarangan tun», «Tangnyng lagyl zhuldizy», «Zhuldizdardyn zhupary», and «Saryayshyktin kozesі» are considered to be gems of Kazakh poetry. The poet is also widely known as a talented translator, having rendered masterpieces of world literature into Kazakh, including works by Heinrich Heine, European poetry, and «Kyryk hikmet».

The author’s literary work has also received high recognition: in 1996, he became a laureate of the State Prize «Daryn», and in 2017, he was awarded the Order of «Qurmet». Additionally, he is a laureate of the Makhambet Prize, a member of the Union of Kazakhstan Writers, and a holder of the Presidential Scholarship.

During the meeting, students read their poems and performed an original song by Svetkali Nurzhan. The creative evening became a special moment of merging poetry and spirit, word and mystery.

Svetkali Nurzhan held a free-format conversation with the participants and answered their questions. This meeting marked an important milestone in the history of the university, demonstrating the greatness of the national spirit and serving as a source of inspiration and spiritual strength for the younger generation.
