The Head of the region, Nurlybek Nalibayev, awarded state honors to a number of citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of the region. 

At the celebratory event dedicated to honoring outstanding workers, titled «Aral Region - A Land with a Deep History and Strong Unity!», Gulbanu Myrzabayeva, a cultural frontrunner and Senior Lecturer of the «Traditional Musical Art and Choreography» educational program at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and Zhanar Bimuratkyzy, a doctoral student at our university and Director of the «Stars of Aral Sea region» Center for Additional Education «Academy of Creativity and Innovation», were awarded the «Shapagat» medal of the Republic of Kazakhstan
