Korkyt Ata University presents «Strongman. Writer. Statesman» book

A presentation of the book «Strongman. Writer. Statesman» took place at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The book was published to mark the 105th anniversary of the Soviet Union Hero Zhalel Kizatov and the 80th anniversary of Great Victory.

The event was moderated by Mainura Buribayeva, the university's Vice-Rector for scientific work and international relations, who delivered an opening speech and welcomed the guests. The first congratulatory message was given by Ruslan Kayupov, head of the Kyzylorda region's public development department. He read out a congratulatory letter on behalf of the regional Governor, Nurlibek Naliyev.

Among participants at the event were Aidyn Kairullayev, head of Kyzylorda city department of culture and language development; Serik Duysenbayev, chairman of the regional veterans' council; Turganbay Makhanov, a public figure and honorary citizen of Kyzylorda region; Sagat Zhussup, a local historian and writer; university veterans and scholars; as well as teachers and students from Zhalel Kizatov School №23, veterans of the Afghan War, and descendants of the hero.

Zhalel Kizatov was a prominent figure who participated in the Great Patriotic War from beginning to end and was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his displayed heroism. In peacetime, he made a significant contribution to the country's development and was awarded several high state honors. From 1990 to 1993, while serving as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he raised Aral Sea ecological issue to the state level and participated in defending the rights of veterans of Afghanistan and Chernobyl. A street in Kyzylorda city and School №23 have been named in his honor.

At the gathering, reports were delivered by Aldazhar Abilov, Associate Professor and Candidate of Philological Sciences; Ulzhan Zhanbershieva, Professor; Aiman Aitbayeva, Senior Lecturer; Serikbay Koshkarov, Professor and Doctor of Technical Sciences; Bakhyt Kaliev, Candidate of Technical Sciences; and Satbay Tastanbek, Doctor of Historical Sciences. They shared insightful thoughts on the hero's life and work.

The collection was published by the order and with the support of Kyzylorda regional Governor. The compiler of the book is Kali Omarov, the Editor-in-Chief of the university. The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda Regional Universal Scientific Library named after A. Tazhibayev, the North Kazakhstan Regional Universal Scientific Library named after S. Mukanov, the university's scientific library, employees of the regional archive, and the Chairman of the University Veterans Council, Bakhyt Kaliyev, participated in the preparation of the collection.

At the conclusion of the event, the granddaughter of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Zhalel Kizatov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Gulnar Zhalelova, was awarded the «Best Graduate» medal of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
