RoboCup Rescue Robot Dogs Competition Results!

The thrilling final of the offline robotics tournament, organized by the USTEM Foundation, has concluded! Seven teams converged on a challenging track to test their robot dogs (within the dimensions of Unitree GO2) for durability, speed, and most importantly, autonomy.

Congratulations to the absolute leaders:

1st place — Team LUPIC (Qorqyt ata)

2nd place — Team RoboLab (SDU)

3rd place — Team ALT (ALT)

What was it like?

The quadruped robots navigated highly complex obstacles in the K-Rails, Ramps, and Pallets zones, also recognized QR codes on the go. The main challenge was the machines' independence: maximum points (up to 4 per zone and 2 for a QR code) were awarded only for fully autonomous completion without operator intervention. If a robot couldn't manage on its own, switching to manual teleoperation earned only a consolation 1 point.

Why is this important?

RoboCup Rescue is a step towards the technologies of the future. Practicing algorithms for obstacle avoidance, machine vision, and real-time navigation lays the groundwork for creating rescue robots. Tomorrow, these autonomous helpers will work in disaster zones, saving lives where it's too dangerous for humans to be.
