Meeting held between university rector and student activists

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Nauryzbay Baikadamov, met with the university's active youth. The meeting was organized as part of Science Month and served as a platform for open dialogue between the university's youth and its leadership.

The meeting was attended by the Member of the Board for Academic Affairs – Vice-Rector Dana Abdasheva, directors of university institutes, heads of structural divisions, chairpersons of student councils, and active students.

The main goal of the meeting was to hear students' proposals and opinions, discuss social and living conditions, and make joint decisions to improve the quality of education.

Sultanat Bizhigitkyzy, Chairperson of the Youth affairs committee, delivered a welcoming address, and Zhanar Sagynbaeva, Head of the Social and educational work department, reported on the social and educational work carried out in the 2025–2026 academic year. Currently, 10,911 students are enrolled at the educational institution. Additionally, over 20 youth organizations operate at the university, systematically working in the areas of national values, legal culture, education and care, and intellectual development. In the 2025–2026 academic year, 462 cultural events were organized, leading to a significant increase in student activity. To support students, the university offers various social benefits. Specifically, 596 students received tuition fee concessions, and 34 students were awarded grants from the "Qazaqstan halqyna" fund.

Furthermore, tuition fee concessions of various levels are provided for orphaned students, students from large and low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and applicants with excellent academic performance. The issue of dormitories also received attention. The university's 6 dormitories have a capacity of 1667 places, and currently, 1487 students reside there.

Besides, Zhanarys Tubekbayev, head of the Kyzylorda Hub business incubator, delivered a report, elaborating on upcoming projects. He highlighted the work being done to develop the startup ecosystem in the region, enhance the entrepreneurial potential of youth, and support innovative initiatives. Particularly emphasizing the rapid development of artificial intelligence, he invited students interested in learning in this field to participate in special training programs and practical projects.

The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, where students had the opportunity to freely express their thoughts, raise several important issues, and make concrete proposals. The university administration assured that the voiced proposals would be taken into consideration and relevant work would be carried out subsequently.

Rector Nauryzbay Baikadamov also addressed the students with a substantive speech, emphasizing the importance of competitiveness in line with modern requirements. In his speech, he noted the rapid development of artificial intelligence, stating: "Now, when you think like one-person, artificial intelligence works with the thoughts of thousands of people. Therefore, to be competitive, continuous development is necessary."

He stressed the importance of being able to withstand any difficulties and solve problems. Noting that youth is the most crucial stage in a person's life, he reminded them of the need to learn and effectively use their time during this period.

The large-scale meeting strengthened the bond between students and the administration, increased youth engagement, and provided new impetus for the further development of the university.
