TURKESTAN AND THE YASSAWI PHENOMENON: HISTORY AND LESSONS

A round table discussion on the theme "Turkestan and the Yassawi Phenomenon: History and Lessons" was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The event was dedicated to the scientific study of the historical and cultural significance of Turkestan, which has become the core of national spiritual heritage, and the legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.

The Vice-Rector for scientific work and international relations, Mainura Buribayeva, delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the special place of Turkestan in the Turkic world and its importance as a spiritual value. It was also emphasized that the in-depth study and popularization of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi's teachings are among the important directions of modern science and the education system.

During the round table, specialists presented insightful reports. Particularly, Dosay Kenzhetayev, a professor at the Khoja Ahmed Yassawi International Kazakh Turkish University, Doctor of Philosophical and Theological Sciences, delivered a report on "The Personality and teachings of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi", thoroughly analyzing the significance of the thinker's spiritual heritage.

Askhat Yerubay, Head of the Department for the Religious Problems Study Center of Kyzylorda regional department for religious affairs, a religious scholar, presented a report on "The Interconnection of the Concepts of 'Perfect' and 'Whole Person' in the Teachings of Yassawi and Abai", revealing the philosophical continuity between the two teachings.  

Furthermore, Talgat Zholdasuly, acting associate professor at Korkyt Ata University, Doctor of Philosophy, delivered a report on "The propaganda of soviet ideology against yassawism and ishanism: manifestations in literature, art, and science", scientifically analyzing views on spiritual values during a historical period.

Tastanbek Satbay, acting associate professor at the university, Doctor of Historical Sciences, presented a report on "Ahmet Yassawi and Steppe Islam", comprehensively analyzing the influence of Yassawi's teachings on the development of Islam in Kazakh steppe.

Issues concerning the legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, Sufi teachings, the phenomenon of Steppe Islam, and national spiritual heritage were widely discussed during the event.

Following the round table, participants noted the importance of such scientific gatherings in promoting spiritual values and shaping the worldview of the younger generation.
