ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES OF THE UNIVERSITY

Various environmental initiatives are being implemented in order to improve the ecological situation in Kazakhstan and protect the environment. One of them is a plastic waste collection campaign organized at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. This initiative aims to foster an environmental culture within the university and enhance the responsibility of students and staff for nature conservation.

Nowadays, special large containers for collecting plastic waste have been installed in the university's 9 academic facilities. Students and university staff daily dispose of used plastic bottles, tableware, and other plastic waste into these containers. The collected waste is sorted weekly and sent to specialized recycling facilities. There, the plastic is processed and used for the production of new household or industrial products.

This environmental initiative makes a significant contribution to reducing environmental pollution, minimizing the harm of plastic waste to nature, and developing a recycling culture. Furthermore, the project promotes environmental education for young people and raises awareness of the importance of efficient natural resource utilization.
