NEW KAZAKHSTAN – NEW GENERATION

A meeting between representatives of the younger generation and the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arthur Lastayev, took place at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The meeting, dedicated to the theme "New Kazakhstan – New Generation", involved a detailed discussion of issues concerning the protection of human rights and freedoms within the framework of constitutional reforms.

The event began with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of the University, Nauryzbay Baikadamov, who expressed gratitude to the experienced specialist in the field of rights protection for his visit and for sharing his views with the youth.

Arthur Lastayev emphasized that the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan enshrines human rights and freedoms as the highest value of the state during the meeting. He also spoke about the activities of the ombudsman's institution, efforts to enhance citizens' legal literacy, and the improvement of mechanisms for protecting rights.

The right to judicial protection, guarantees of privacy, and the strengthening of norms prohibiting torture were mentioned.

AliIslam Baikadam, a member of the "Spirit of freedom" youth commission, noted that the protection of human rights and the development of international cooperation are among the key directions of state policy. According to him, an expert council, a coordination council, a youth commission, and a scientific commission are constantly working to ensure effective interaction with society.

It was also highlighted that Kazakhstan closely cooperates with international organizations and foreign partners, supporting human rights protection initiatives at the international level.

The event concluded with an open discussion, during which students asked questions that concerned them and exchanged views on current issues of human rights protection.
