THE ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION “ECOLIFE” HAS BEEN AWARDED A PRIZE OF FIVE MILLION TENGE

The "Ecolife" environmental club of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University secured first place at the final of the 10th season of the ReStart environmental project, held in Astana, and received a prize fund of 5,000,000 tenge. The funds will be used to purchase a set of equipment for plastic waste recycling.

The project, organized with the support of Coca-Cola İçecek Kazakhstan, saw participation from teams representing 23 universities across the country. Participants demonstrated active engagement by conducting environmental campaigns, collecting plastic waste, and organizing clean-up drives throughout the season.

In the final stage, the "Ecolife" club achieved the best result and emerged as the winner. Participants collected over 60 tons of PET-1 plastic, reaching a record-breaking figure through their collaborative efforts this season.

This club’s achievement is a testament to the systematic work undertaken to foster environmental culture within the university. It also highlights the responsibility and proactive stance of the youth towards the environment.

The concluding event was attended by Svetlana Kuzhamberdieva, a senior lecturer in the "Electric power engineering, technosphere safety, and ecology" educational program, and the founder and head of the "Ecolife" club, as well as Zhibek Aknurova, a student of the "Ecology and nature management" program and an active eco-volunteer.

It is worth noting that June 5th is World Environment Day. University staff and students actively participate in environmental initiatives as part of the national "Taza Kazakhstan" project for environmental protection. Such commendable actions contribute to the formation of environmental culture and a responsible attitude towards nature.
