UNIVERSITY'S ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE "CLEAN KAZAKHSTAN" PROJECT

June 5th is World Environment Day. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of caring for nature, protecting the environment, and fostering ecological culture. Within the educational institution, environmental initiatives are continuously implemented as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" project.

The university's botanical garden and greenhouse complex today stand as a prime example of the effective application of modern agrotechnologies and environmental responsibility. Here, ecologically clean agricultural products are grown, and innovative technologies are being introduced.

Specifically, the first greenhouse cultivates F1 Cedrik cucumber varieties using hydroponics and drip irrigation technologies. The average weight of each fruit is 100-120 grams. The second greenhouse grows F1 Bellfort, Mahitos, Belle, and Lidenza tomato varieties. The average weight of the tomatoes ranges from 100 to 250 grams. Additionally, the greenhouse is cultivating Cavendish banana varieties and Meyer lemon varieties, with research ongoing into their adaptation to the region's climate and their fruiting potential.

Currently, the botanical garden is home to over 1500 species of trees. The greenhouse complex ensures continuous fruiting throughout the year and creates conditions for conducting scientific research. These efforts are aimed at ensuring ecological sustainability and expanding the region's green fund.

It is worth noting that within the university, regular clean-up events are held with the participation of staff and students in all academic buildings and on the grounds, with the goal of fostering ecological culture. Work on shaping environmental awareness will continue in the future.
