KORKYT ATA UNIVERSITY LIBRARY HAS ACQUIRED A NEW EDITION

A solemn ceremony was held at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University to add the reissued edition of “Eleń-alań” by novelist, statesman and public figure Abish Kekilbayev to the university library’s collection.

Mainura Buribayeva, Vice Rector for research and international relations, accepted the books added to the university’s collection. 

This cultural event was organized as part of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s
“A Nation That Reads Books” project. “Bank CenterCredit” JSC served as the sponsor supporting the book’s reprint.

The novel “Eleń-alań” had not been reprinted since 1984. This year, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a print run of 8,000 copies is being distributed to higher education institutions across the country. “Today we donated 70 copies of the novel to the university library”, said Murat Nugymanov, director of the local branch of “Bank CenterCredit” JSC.

The event was attended by the university’s faculty, students, and doctoral candidates. This initiative helps to foster young people’s interest in reading and provides an opportunity to widely promote the nation’s literary heritage.
