A “JOURNALISTS’ MARATHON” FOR MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES TOOK PLACE AT KORKYT ATA UNIVERSITY

On June 28th, on the eve of Mass Communications Workers’ Day, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University organized a “Journalists’ Marathon” with the participation of representatives from regional and national media representatives.

The main goal of the event was to discuss current trends in the media, analyze the possibilities of artificial intelligence technologies in journalism, and strengthen professional ties between universities and mass media.

A seminar-training session was held titled “The Future of Media: Artificial Intelligence, Education, and Professional Demand” as part of the marathon. Vice-Rector for social and educational affairs Ualikhan Ibraev congratulated media workers on their professional holiday At the opening and emphasized the important role of journalism in society.

The director of “Kyzylorda Hub”, Zhanarys Tyubekbaev, gave a presentation on the application of artificial intelligence technologies in media and new opportunities in digital content production During the seminar.

The meeting continued in the open views’ exchange format. Acting Rector and Chairperson of the Board Dana Abdrasheva spoke about the university’s strategic development directions, improving the quality of education, integrating science and industry, international cooperation, and enhancing interaction with the media sector. Representatives of regional and national media shared their proposals and experiences regarding the development of modern journalism, staffing needs of editorial offices, new professions in the media market, and the professional skills required of future journalists. Besides, journalists asked questions of their interest and expressed their suggestions.
