INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR IN CHINA: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

From July 23 to August 5, an international seminar titled "Digital Transformation and Modernization of the Manufacturing Industry in Developing Countries" was held in Hangzhou, China. The program brought together 93 specialists from 17 countries to explore best practices in the digital economy, artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and new energy.

Kazakhstan was represented by four specialists, three of whom are scholars from the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University: Nurbek Konyrbaev, PhD, Head of the Computer Science educational program; Aizhan Temirbek, PhD, Senior Lecturer in the Electric Power Engineering, Technosphere Safety, and Ecology program; and Perizat Bulanbaeva, PhD, Senior Lecturer in the Water Resources and Land Management program.

During the seminar, participants visited high-tech enterprises and innovation centers in China to observe the application of digital technologies in manufacturing. Facilities such as Sanhua Group, CFMOTO, WENSLI, and the CHITIC Digital Intelligence Industrial Park showcased expertise in production automation, digital management, and cutting-edge technologies.

"The Chinese experience has demonstrated that digital technologies are interconnected with every stage of production, which is highly relevant for our university as well. We must prioritize the training of specialists who not only use these technologies but are also capable of adapting them to specific tasks," noted Nurbek Konyrbaev.

The program also covered areas such as hydrogen energy, drones, and the low-altitude economy. This experience will enable the university’s scholars to develop new research directions in artificial intelligence, computer vision, environmental monitoring, and remote water resource management.

The delegation met with representatives of the Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ZUME) to discuss opportunities for cooperation in academic mobility, faculty internships, and the implementation of joint scientific projects during the trip.

Following the international seminar, Korkyt Ata University researchers expanded their international experience in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and established new scientific and academic connections.
