KORKYT ATA UNIVERSITY AND UNICEF DISCUSS COOPERATION IN SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Nauryzbay Baikadamov – held a meeting with Danara Saranova, a representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The main aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the university and UNICEF, as well as to discuss opportunities for implementing joint projects and social initiatives aimed at supporting young people.

During the discussion, the university rector emphasised that supporting young people and creating favourable conditions for them to receive a high-quality education and achieve all-round professional and personal development are among the institution’s key priorities.

— On the initiative of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the UN General Assembly has declared 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development. Furthermore, at the conference in August, our President noted: ‘Sadness, grief and depression must be alien to our young people.’ This demonstrates just how important it is to create conditions for young people to realise their potential and develop in an active and healthy environment. “We are ready to work together with UNICEF in this area”, said Nauryzbay Baikadamov.

For her part, Danara Saranova highlighted the high level of civic engagement amongst young people in the Kyzylorda Region and their involvement in social initiatives. According to her, there are currently more than 200 young people in the region who are actively involved in community work and various social projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for implementing joint projects aimed at the all-round development of young people and increasing their civic engagement in the future.
