UNIVERSITY LECTURERS ARE PARTICIPATING THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR IN PORTUGAL

The event is taking place from September 7th to 11th at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) in Covilhã as part of the international MECAS project, implemented under the ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-2 program.

MECAS is an international project aimed at developing the capacity of higher education within the Erasmus programme. Its main objective is to develop a new Master’s degree programme in eco-informatics. The programme is designed to train specialists capable of researching and addressing environmental issues in Aral Sea region.

Participants are discussing issues relating to the development of the programme’s content, the introduction of modern teaching methods, the organisation of the teaching process and the application of leading international best practice during the seminar. Particular attention is being paid to the exchange of professional experience in the field of collecting, processing and analysing data concerning the state of the environment.

Representing the university in the development of the educational programme are Sholpan Umbetova, Research Professor of the “Water Management and Land Use Planning” programme and Candidate of Technical Sciences, as well as Bakhytzhan Shayanbekova, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor.
