KORKYT ATA UNIVERSITY AND RUPF LAUNCH DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMME

The Chairman of the Board - Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Nauryzbay Baikadamov, met with representatives of the Russian University of of Peoples’ Friendship (RUPF) as part of the international seminar “Mankind in Space: 65 Years”.

The main aim of the meeting was to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities, expand collaboration in the fields of education and research, and discuss opportunities for implementing joint projects.

The event was attended by a delegation from RUPF led by Svetlana Krasilnikova, Associate Professor at the Department of Russian Studies, Ethno-Oriented Pedagogy and Digital Didactics at the Institute of the Russian Language.

During the meeting, the launch of one of the joint initiatives was announced: the “Russian Language and Literature in a digital educational environment” dual-degree bachelor’s programme. The programme offers students the opportunity to study at both universities, gain international academic experience and, upon completion of their studies, receive two degrees.

The parties also paid particular attention to the development of academic mobility. Particularly, there were discussed proposals to expand student exchanges and create opportunities for students to study at overseas universities and gain experience in a professional environment.

Besides, members of the delegation negotiated about the “Global Pedagogy” master’s degree programme, which focuses on the international educational landscape. The programme aims to train specialists with a deep understanding of international educational processes and a command of modern teaching methods.

Graduates of this programme will be able to work in the international relations departments of universities and educational organisations, government bodies and expert-analytical institutions, international projects and foundations, non-governmental organisations, the EdTech sector, as well as in educational and research centres.

During the meeting, the importance of exchanging experience with the international professional community was also discussed. In this regard, the RUPF delegation invited representatives from Korkyt Ata University to take part in a teachers’ forum to be held at the end of September. The international forum will be attended by leading education specialists from CIS countries, who will discuss current issues in pedagogy and exchange experiences.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in developing mutually beneficial cooperation further, expanding the scope of academic mobility and implementing joint educational projects.
