CHINA: REPRESENTATIVES OF KORKYT ATA UNIVERSITY TAKE PART IN AN INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR

Akmaral Temirova, Corporate Secretary of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and a Candidate of Economic Sciences, and Bekzat Abdullaeva, Master of Laws, are taking part in the international seminar “The development experience of the Shenzhen special economic zone”, which is being held in Shenzhen (People’s Republic of China).

The event is organised by the Shenzhen Association for the Promotion of International Economic and Technological Cooperation. The seminar is addressing issues relating to China’s socio-economic development, the role of special economic zones in the development of the national economy, and the best practices of Guangdong Province and the city of Shenzhen.

On the first day of the seminar, there were given presentations on China’s modernisation processes, the reform and opening-up policy launched in 1978, and the country’s economic and technological achievements. Participants learnt about China’s experience in combating poverty, developing industry and science, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, new energy sources and high-tech manufacturing.

The seminar programme included lectures by professors and experts from Shenzhen University, as well as visits to the Longhua District Administration and the Shenzhen Academy of Reform and Opening-up.

University representatives established professional contacts and exchanged experiences with participants from Egypt, Iraq, Ethiopia and Cambodia during the trip.

Participation in the international seminar provides an opportunity to study China’s best practices and explore ways of applying them in Kazakhstan to develop the regional economy, special economic zones, university research and innovative entrepreneurship.
