«65 YEARS OF MANKIND IN SPACE» INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR HAS COME TO IT’S CLOSURE

A formal closing ceremony for the international seminar marking the 65th anniversary of human spaceflight took place at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

Dana Abdrashova, the university’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the significance of the seminar. She expressed her gratitude to the vice-rectors of the universities that had sent representatives, as well as to the delegates themselves. Guests were presented with letters of thanks and copies of Abay’s “Words of Edification”.

As part of the closing ceremony, a commemorative video was shown, highlighting the key moments of the events that took place from 6 to 11 September.

Besides, Svetlana Krasilnikova, Associate Professor at the Department of Russian Studies, Ethno-Oriented Pedagogy and Digital Didactics at the Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples, presented certificates to 10 students from Korkyt Ata University who had taken part in the international summer camp.

The seminar was attended by students and coordinators from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia and China, as well as lecturers and students from the host university.

Throughout the week, lectures and psychological training sessions were organized for the foreign guests. The participants visited the town of Baikonur, Lake Kambash, a museum in the Karmakshy district and the Korkyt Ata Memorial Complex — a spiritual heritage site of the Turkic world. During these educational excursions, they learnt about the historical and cultural heritage and sights of the Syr Darya region.

The formal ceremony concluded with a performance of a song dedicated to Baikonur.
