KORKYT ATA KYZYLORDA UNIVERSITY HAS RISEN TO 1243RD PLACE IN THE UI GREENMETRIC-2026 WORLD RANKING
Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University has improved its position in the 17th edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, rising from 1,259th to 1,243rd place worldwide. The University also ranked 20th among 41 Kazakhstani universities and 744th in Asia.
This achievement is particularly significant given the growing level of global competition. The number of participating institutions increased from 1,743 to 2,016 universities across 110 countries, making UI GreenMetric the world’s largest university ranking dedicated to assessing institutional sustainability performance.
This year’s updated methodology provides a more comprehensive assessment of university sustainability. Institutions were evaluated across seven categories: Setting and Infrastructure; Energy and Climate Change; Waste; Water; Transportation; Education and Research; and Governance and Digitalization.
The revised methodology focuses not only on environmental initiatives and sustainability education but also on effective institutional governance and digital transformation.
The University’s improved position reflects its continued commitment to sustainable development, responsible governance and the creation of an environmentally friendly campus.
