CONFERENCE MARKING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF MARDAN BAIDILDAYEV - A GUARDIAN OF THE NATIONAL SPIRIT

Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University hosted the national research and practice conference “Guardian of the national spirit”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of scholar and folklore researcher Mardan Baidildayev.

Before the conference began, the participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the servicemen who lost their lives in a tragic incident in the Mangystau Region.

Organized by Kyzylorda Regional Governor’s office, the conference aimed to study and promote the legacy of the scholar, who made a significant contribution to collecting and studying national folklore and literary heritage and introducing them into academic discourse.

Kylyshbai Bissenov, Rector of Kyzylorda Open University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressed the conference. Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University scholars Gabit Aneshuly and Gulzira Saparkyzy presented papers on the works of the poets of the Syr Darya region and the researcher’s academic legacy. Laili Kundykbai, Candidate of Philological Sciences and a specialist in Turmagambet studies, discussed the scholar’s contribution to the study of Turmagambet Iztileuov’s works.

Mardan Keldibaiuly made an exceptional contribution to collecting and studying the works of poets from the Syr Darya region, including Turmagambet, Shorayaktyn Omary, Karasakal Yerimbet, Kete Zhusip, Kangly Zhusip and Danmuryn. His academic legacy laid the foundation for the systematic study of the region’s literary and folkloric heritage.

At the conclusion of the conference, the participants emphasized the importance of the scholar’s work in preserving the nation’s spiritual heritage and passing it on to future generations. They also discussed opportunities for further academic study of his legacy.
