UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS PRESENTED

An outside press conference organized by the Regional Communications Service was held at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University in honor of October 1 – the Day of Higher Education Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event highlighted the university’s current development priorities and achievements in improving the quality of education, advancing research, strengthening international cooperation and creating a supportive academic environment for students.

Vice-Rector for social and educational affairs Ualikhan Ibrayev presented the university’s development indicators. As he reported, alongside strengthening its educational and research capacity, the university continues to reinforce its position in the international academic community.

According to international ranking results, the university received a 4-star rating in the QS Stars rating system. It ranked 593rd in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 and 1,259th in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

The university also demonstrates consistent performance in national rankings. In the national university demand ranking conducted by the Independent Agency for Academic Ranking and Rating, the university placed 7th and entered the TOP 10 in the overall ranking of higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.

The meeting also highlighted the university’s efforts to enhance its research capacity, support young researchers, and expand academic, research, creative, and sporting opportunities for students.

“The most important indicator of our work is our students’ achievements. In the 2025–2026 academic year, 67 students became winners of national subject Olympiads, while 27 students won student research project competitions. In the 2026–2027 academic year, 22 students were awarded the Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, said Ualikhan Ibrayev.

To support the comprehensive development of students, the university has 20 youth organizations and 11 sports clubs. Their activities are aimed at increasing students’ social engagement, supporting their research and creative initiatives, and developing their sporting potential.

During the press conference, media representatives asked questions about the university’s education system, research activities, international cooperation, and future development plans.
