Alumna of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University for the first time in the region received the title of grandmaster

Alumna of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, chess player Assel Serikbay became the silver medalist of the World Championship in the Italian city of Sardinia. As a result, she became the ninth in the country and the first "grandmaster" in the region.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Board-Rector Beibitkul Karimova congratulated Assel Serikbai on her victory. At the meeting, the chess player was presented with a badge "Uzdik Tulek" and wished success in the upcoming competitions.

The pride of the University Assel Serikbay became a 4-time world champion and a 7-time winner of the Asian Championship.

In turn, Assel expressed gratitude to all citizens who provided support.

"The educational institution pays special attention to the development of sports and the formation of a healthy lifestyle of young people.They  have always supported athletes. Therefore, behind each of my victories is the education and hard work of my teachers. It is a great pride to be a alumna of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University," Assel Serikbay said.

It should be noted that currently the university has a sports section for 13 sports. 9 world champions, 27 winners and prize-winners of Asian and 120 championships of Kazakhstan study at the educational institution.
