Students launched a challenge in support of traditions and jewelry art

Students of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University launched a challenge in support of traditions and jewelry art.

The students decorated their hair with objects of Kazakh jewelry art, such as shashbau, sholpi, shekelik, to encourage the residents of Kazakhstan to wear these jewelry every day, which came to us from the depths of centuries.

Kazakhs used to have girls, women did not go with their hair down at all. After all, in the old days, women let their hair down on sad occasions when someone close to them died. If modern girls will weave braids and wear shashbau, sholpas, it will be fine.

They say "Ringing" about sholps, because earlier it was customary to supplement them with bells. These ornaments can be simple, for example, as straps with beads, or with coins, or real works of jewelry art.

Shashbau used to be, even back in Soviet times, in remote villages and on cattle runs, perhaps, the only and always available decoration, since any girl could make them for herself – from ribbons, coins, beautiful stones, scraps of fabric, leather.

The challenge aimed at modernizing our national culture was supported by other universities as soon as possible.
