A reporting meeting of the rector of the university was held in front of the population

Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University Beibitkul Karimova held a reporting meeting in online and offline format.

The Rector reported on academic education, research, international relations, and social activities of the university. She also analyzed the work done in the 2022-2023 academic year, familiarized with the plan for the further development of the leading university.

The head of the university noted that the main goal of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University is to promote the development of education and science in the country, socio-economic development of the region.

In 2023, 21 Kazakh universities entered the prestigious QS World University Ranking. One of the best universities in the ranking is the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

According to the results of the "National Ranking of popular universities" conducted by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (IAAR), it entered the TOP 10 best universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking 7th place. The top three included 20 educational programs of the university.

The contingent of students at the university for the 2023-2024 academic year exceeded 10 thousand students. Compared to the 2019-2020 academic year, the contingent of students has increased by 2 times, the number of students on the basis of a state educational grant - by 3.7 times. Personnel training is carried out according to 113 educational programs.

In the future, the university will become one of the main educational institutions in the country where artificial intelligence will be trained. With the funding of the Government of the Republic of Korea, together with the Seoul National University of Science and Technology, the project "Restructuring of  IT departments and the creation of a new school of artificial intelligence" was developed.

The project, designed for seven years, provides for the introduction of new technologies in the educational process, the creation of a higher school of artificial intelligence and computer science, the transfer of South Korean experience in the formation of an advanced university.

In the future, a new project related to entrepreneurship will be implemented jointly with the University of Suffolk and the Change School of Great Britain (University of Suffolk and Change School). As a result, a business school will open in the city of Kyzylorda.

In addition, the University implements joint educational programs with Gangnam University (Republic of Korea), China Petroleum University (PRC), Tomsk Polytechnic National Research University, Dubna University (Russian Federation), National Research Institute "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" (Republic of Uzbekistan).

In the first place is the acquaintance of students with advanced technologies, the results of new research in their field. At the same time, the academic mobility program is of great importance, which allows you to study for the first semester at other universities in the country and abroad.

Within the framework of this program, 239 students of our university studied at domestic universities, and 206 students of other universities studied at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. An external academic mobility program is regularly implemented. In the 2022-2023 academic year, 21 students studied at Lodz (Poland), Hovest University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), Tomsk Polytechnic Research University.

Also, during the first academic period of the 2023-2024 academic year, 44 students are studying under the mobility program at universities in Hubei (China), Gangnam (South Korea), Lodz (Poland), Selcuk (Turkey), Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

University scientists are implementing grant and international projects to promote the socio–economic development of the region. The total income from science at the university increases every year. In 2022, 17 projects were completed, and in 2023-23 scientific projects. Compared to 2020, science revenues increased 3.2 times.

Since 2022, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, 500 Kazakhstan scientists have been interning in the leading scientific centers of the world annually within the framework of the Bolashak program.

University scientists have received vouchers for internships in the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan within the framework of the 500 Scientists project. In 2022, 6 scientists completed an internship, and in 2023, 14 scientists became winners of the project. To date, 10 more scientists have submitted documents for a scientific internship.

In addition, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Mamandygym– Bolashagym project was launched at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. Within the framework of the project, a regional map of specialties will be compiled and the specialties necessary for the region will be determined. Accordingly, new educational programs are being developed at the university.

The university has intensified work on high-quality academic education, scientific research. In addition, in order to form students' national spirit, creative potential as a highly spiritual personality aimed at the development of the country, 24 youth organizations function at the university. In this direction, 892 events were organized in the 2022-2023 academic year.

The university has sections on 13 sports: chess, volleyball, basketball, football, togyzkumalak, boxing, powerlifting, swimming, fitness, wrestling, tennis, e-sports, sports dancing.

Every year, teams of university students in 7 sports (basketball, volleyball, futsal, table tennis, togyzkumalak, kazaksha kures, chess) constantly participate in the Republican Student League.

The university has 9 winners and prize-winners of the World Championship, 23 of the Asian Championship, 125 of the Kazakhstan championship.

120 students in 16 sports took part in the 2023 Summer Universiade among universities. In the team competition, the university athletes took 9th place and won 37 medals (gold-7, silver–8, bronze-22). The participants were fully provided with special sportswear of the university.

Students of the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University Adilkhan Dosym and Tursynbai Yeldos received a grant in the amount of 600 thousand tenge in the contest "Tauelsizdik urpaktary", organized with the aim of forming a creative environment of active youth and providing state support to their initiative.

Members of the Political Debate Club "Akikat" became the winners of the republican tournament in Turkestan.

In the semifinal match of the Republican Almaty Open League, the Q team of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University performed with honors and won a ticket to the final game.

In the Sustainability Living Lab project competition organized by CHEVRON, University students Temirlan Abzhanov and Sayat Urikbayev received a grant in the amount of 2 million 600 thousand tenge.

In conclusion, the rector of the university noted that the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University will continue to implement new initiatives that contribute to strengthening the human capital and scientific and technological potential of the country.
