Purpose
The aim of this project is to develop an artificial intelligence-based control system for the technological process of a water treatment facility that uses ozonation for water purification.
Project objectives
1. Analysis of domestic and international experience in the use of ozone for water treatment in purification processes.
2. Study of the formation of by-products (bromates) and development of methods for their minimization.
3. Investigation of the kinetics of ozone reactions with organic and inorganic substances.
4. Study of existing technological schemes of ozonation systems.
5. Development of a mathematical model of the ozonation process using artificial intelligence.
6. Creation of a remote control algorithm for ozonation processes using artificial intelligence.
7. Development of a digital twin for managing the water treatment system with ozonation.
8. Economic efficiency of using artificial intelligence in managing the ozonation method in water purification systems.

Expected results
A technological scheme and technical regulations for water purification using ozonation will be developed based on the methodology previously created by us.
Mathematical and computer models will be developed to control the ozonation process based on various parameters such as source water quality, pollutant concentration, ozone level, and other indicators. This will enable automatic regulation of ozone supply to achieve optimal purification efficiency.
The use of artificial intelligence will allow for the analysis of water condition data and prediction of possible changes in quality, enabling proactive measures.
A test report on the control of the ozonation process using Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be obtained.

Based on the results of the research, the following will be published:
- At least 3 (three) articles and/or reviews in peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science database and/or having a CiteScore percentile of at least 50 in the Scopus database;
- At least 1 patent for an invention (including a positive decision);
- At least 2 (two) articles or reviews in peer-reviewed foreign or domestic journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the
- At least 3 (three) articles and/or reviews in peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science database and/or having a CiteScore percentile of at least 50 in the Scopus database;
- At least 1 patent for an invention (including a positive decision);
- At least 2 (two) articles or reviews in peer-reviewed foreign or domestic journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the

One of the articles will be in the multidisciplinary category, addressing practical interdisciplinary tasks of enterprises in Kazakhstan’s real sector of the economy.
For domestic journals from List 1 of KOKNVO that are not in the multidisciplinary category, journals from Lists 1 and 2 of KOKNVO indexed in two or more categories will be counted.
Upon completion of the project (in the relevant scientific field):
- At least 1 (one) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor in the profile will be trained (joint training with higher and postgraduate education institutions (OVPO) licensed for doctoral programs is allowed). The dissertation defense may take place no later than 2 (two) years after the project’s completion;
- Dissemination of research results among potential users, the scientific community, and the general public: results will be shared through participation in international scientific conferences, national and regional media, and social networks.
