Purpose of the educational programme

To train a chemistry and biology teacher who possesses conceptual knowledge in the chemical and biological sciences, is proficient in modern teaching and educational methods, has business and management skills and a high level of social and civic responsibility, and is able to carry out teaching activities in both subject areas.

Distinctive features of the educational programme

Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University is the only higher education institution that trains bachelor's degree students under this educational programme. The programme is based on an integrated approach to teaching chemistry and biology and prepares highly qualified, competitive professionals who can teach both subjects in response to the needs of the regional labour market.

Study arrangements

The duration of study is determined by the period required to complete 240 academic credits over the entire programme and 60 academic credits per academic year. Accordingly, the standard duration of study is four years. Students may complete fewer or more academic credits during an academic year, in which case the duration of study is extended or shortened. For persons with higher education, technical and vocational education, or post-secondary education, the duration of study is determined by taking into account the student's prerequisites, previously completed courses and their volume, provided that there is sufficient continuity between the educational programmes.
