Scientists of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University conducted scientific research in Moscow

Scientists of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University conducted research in the archive of the Miklukho-Maklay Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and in the State Museum of the Peoples of the East, Russia.

The scientists investigated the archaeological heritage of Eastern Aralsk and carried out work on systematization of new archival data of the Khorezm archaeological and ethnographic expedition.

During the visit, the head of the scientific center "Archeology and Ethnography", Doctor of Philosophy Azilkhan Tazhekeyev and the staff of the center – Doctor of Philosophy Baglan Shoraev, doctoral student Yslam Kurmaniyazov, project executor Rustem Darmenov got acquainted with the new data.

"In 1946-1990, the Khorezm archaeological and Ethnographic expedition of the USSR Academy of Sciences was conducted on the territory of the Kyzylorda region. Archival materials are currently stored at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology named after N. N. Miklukho-Maklay. The main goal of our project is to study scientific reports on the archeology and history of the land of Syr at the Institute, to find exhibits, copies of which will be presented to the general public in the future.

The work was carried out on the basis of scientific data (field, aerial, reporting) concerning the burial grounds of Tugusken and Uygarak, the archaeological culture of Chirik-Rabat," said scientist Azilkhan Tazhekeyev.

In the future, based on these works, the II volume of archival materials of the history of the land of Syr and the Khorezm expedition will be published.

It should be noted that the scientific trip was implemented within the framework of the grant financing project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2025.
