Lectures by foreign scientists have begun

Lectures by foreign scientists on archaeology and history will be held at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University from September 30 to October 10. 

The lectures are led by Professor Harke Heinrich Gunther Heinz from the University of Tubingen in Germany, Doctor of Archaeological Sciences, and Irina Arkadievna Arzhantseva, a leading researcher at the N.N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences.

The lecture by foreign scientists is addressed to students and undergraduates of the educational program "History and Archaeology", as well as to the teaching staff. Their content covers the following topics:
September 30 – Zhankent and interdisciplinary research;

October 2 – Research of the Khorezm archaeological and Ethnographic expedition in Central Asia;

October 4 – Development of trade, establishment of statehood and urbanization on the Great Silk Road;

October 7 – Society and settlements in the Early Middle Ages (based on Western and Eastern cultures);

October 9 – History and archaeology of European nomads (1st millennium BC - 1st millennium AD).

These lectures will help to deepen the knowledge of university students and get acquainted with international experience in the field of archaeology and ethnography. The exchange of experience with foreign scientists will expand the scientific horizons of future specialists and contribute to the improvement of research skills. In addition, the lecture will address such important issues as the History of Civilizations on the Great Silk Road, archaeological excavations and the interaction of cultures.
