A professor from Suzhou gave a lecture to the students

Students of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University met with Associate Professor at the Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University, archaeologist and architectural historian, PhD, Martin Goffriller.

During the lecture, the professor reported on the latest scientific achievements in the field of archaeology and the history of architecture, introduced students to landscape archaeology, research methods and discoveries of ancient architecture objects. In addition, he explained in detail the application of modern technologies in these areas, such as 3D modeling, geographic information systems (GIS) in our time.

Martin Goffriller paid special attention to the use of drones in archaeological and architectural research, emphasizing their advantages. He showed that with the help of drones, the effectiveness of such works as surveying archaeological sites from above, exploring vast territories, accurately modeling ancient architectural structures and collecting cartographic data increases. Compared to traditional approaches, this method allows you to collect accurate and detailed data, saving time.

This meeting, aimed at an international exchange of experience, paved the way for students to acquire new knowledge and skills in the field of science and education. The students showed a special interest in the methods of conducting research using drones and were motivated to deepen their professional competencies.
