A city seminar on military-patriotic education was held

On the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the celebration of Independence Day, a scientific and practical seminar on the topic was held at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University: "Military-patriotic education of youth in Kazakhstan: achievements and problems".

The moderator of the seminar is the head of the military department, Colonel Nurseyt Uvaidaev. The first report was made by retired major, senior lecturer at the military Department Bibolat Erdigalikov. The director of the Warsaw Pact Military Group Altynsary Shurenov, chairman of NGO "Zastava Tarlandary" Asan Khudoyarov, officers of military units of Kyzylorda garrison and teachers of the military department also spoke.

Achievements and issues in the field of military-patriotic education were widely discussed at the meeting, and a number of proposals were made. The head of the educational program "History and Archaeology" Kydyrbai Otkelbayev noted the historical importance of military-patriotic education, and the head of the Center "Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan" Aitzhan Orazbakov suggested ways to strengthen the ideological training of young people.

Vice-rector for Social and Educational Affairs Zhandos Bazartai noted that 11 students who returned from the army study at the university for free: "Every support is provided by the university, students are accepted without passing tests and interviews."

During the seminar, teachers and students of the military department, units of the Kyzylorda garrison and colleges presented several articles. In his closing remarks, Colonel Nurseit Uvaidaev accepted 6 specific proposals for the development of military-patriotic education of young people.

The event was attended by representatives of military units of the Kyzylorda garrison, university management, teaching staff, veterans of the Afghan war, heads of public associations "Zastava Tarlandary" and "Veterans of the Armed Forces", college teachers, students of the military department and young soldiers of the border guard service.

Currently, 247 students study at the military department. Every year, an average of 120 students complete their studies and 130-140 students are accepted for the new academic year. The military department teaches two programs: a reserve lieutenant and a reserve sergeant.

Under the reserve lieutenant program, students study for 2 years, and under the reserve sergeant program - 1 year. Students who graduate from the military department have the opportunity to receive the rank of reserve lieutenant and become an officer.
