The republican debate tournament took place

The republican debate tournament "Qorqyt Ata CUP II: National consciousness – the basis of the spirituality of the nation" was organized at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. 11 teams from Astana, Shymkent, Turkestan, Taraz and Kyzylorda took part in the large-scale event. During the competition, the oratory skills and deep knowledge of the debaters were evaluated.

At the opening ceremony of the tournament, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work Zhandos Bazartai made a speech of thanks, noting that "Qorqyt Ata CUP II" debate tournament provides a great opportunity for young people to develop critical thinking, deepen knowledge and share experiences. In addition, he expressed confidence that the tournament will form new ideas for young people and will contribute to a deeper understanding of national consciousness.

Professionals with extensive experience in the field of debate in our region were invited to the tournament. The chief judge was the director of the National Debate Federation for Kyzylorda region, Aizhan Orynbasarova.

The republican tournament touched upon topical and important topics in society, such as “Prohibition of all types of gambling (lotteries, bookmakers, casinos) in the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Demonstration of the best achievements of Kazakh youth”, "Presentation of modern traditions of the Kazakh people”, “Development of new solutions to combat bullying”, “Demonstration of the main mistake of the 21st century" and so on.

As a result, the "Nartai Bekezhanov" faction of Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University took the first place, the "Nagi Ilyasov" faction of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University took the second place, the "Turmaganbetov Iztleuov" faction of Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University took the third place.

In addition, Marzhan Yerdibek earned the title of "Best Judge", and Azamat Tokbergen from Taraz was awarded the nomination of "Best Speaker".

At the award ceremony, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Mainur Buribayeva highlighted the role of participants in education and in the formation of national identity and congratulated the winners.

It should be noted that the "Akikat" debate club is one of the leading organizations for the development of creativity and oratorical abilities of students of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.  The main goal of the club is to increase intellectual abilities through the formation of a culture of speech and systemic thinking among young people, the education of a personality adapted to finding solutions through the analysis of current problems of society.

The debate club has been successfully operating for 20 years. By establishing close ties not only at the university level, but also with the schools of the region and opening branches, it widely promotes the culture of debate among the youth of the region. Members of the organization win prizes in national and international debate tournaments, worthily defending the honor of the university.
