In Astana, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev honored and awarded state accolades to a number of teachers who have made a significant contribution to the educational development in the country. This solemn event is a sign of high respect for domestic science and education. 

Among the teachers honored, Professor Ulzhan Zhanbershieva, Candidate of Philological Sciences at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, was awarded the Parasat Medal for her many years of successful work in the field of education and science in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Uljan Zhanbershieva was born in 1954 in the city of Kyzylorda.

After graduating from Kazakh Secondary School No. 171 named after G. Muratbayev in Kyzylorda city, in 1971 she entered the philological faculty of the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute named after N.V. Gogol.

From 1975 to 1983 after graduating from the institute, she worked as a teacher of Kazakh language and literature at the G. Muratbayev Kazakh Secondary School No. 171 in Kyzylorda.

From 1983 to 1984, she was an assistant at the Kazakh Literature Department of the Philology Faculty at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University.

From 1984 to 1990, she was a lecturer, from 1990 to 1996, a senior lecturer, and from 2007 to 2024, a professor.

From 1988 to 1990, she studied at the postgraduate school of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and on December 14, 1990, she successfully defended her thesis on «The Poetic Legacy of the Poet Turmagambet Iztleuov», receiving a degree in philology.

From 1990 to 1997, she headed the Kazakh Literature Department, and in the 2000s, she held the position of pedagogical specialties dean at the Distance Education and Retraining Institute.

In 2007, by decision of the Academic Council of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University Uzhgan Zhanbershiyeva was awarded the title of academic professor of the Kazakh Literature and Journalism Department.

Uljan Zhanbershiyeva is the author of seven teaching aids, six monographs, five literary research works and more than 300 scientific articles.

Additionally, for her special contribution to the field of education, she was awarded the Korkyt Ata Gold Medal of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University, the Medal for Merit in the Development of Science of Kazakhstan Republic, and the Medal for Excellence in Education of Kazakhstan Republic. 

Uljan Zhanbershieva, PhD and professor, is a teacher and scientist who has made a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata, the educational center in Syr Darya region. She is also a leading researcher in two scientific projects implemented with funding from the ministry.

Over the years working at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Ulzhan Zhanbershieva, researching current issues in literary studies, has become the only scholar to theoretically and methodologically substantiate the work of writers and poets from Syr Darya region.
