A Unique Experience: Korkyt Ata students attend a lecture by the youngest academician of the National Academy of Sciences

Suragan Dorbetkhan, a leading Kazakh mathematician, Professor at Nazarbayev University and the youngest academician in the history of the National Academy of Sciences of KR, took the initiative to deliver a lecture to students, master's students and doctoral candidates of the «Physics and Mathematics» EP at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

The scientist began his presentation by exploring the origins of ancient mathematics and how our ancestors applied it in their daily lives. In his speech, the mathematician drew parallels between mentioned science and disciplines such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, and so on. Furthermore, using visual examples, he demonstrated to the audience how both simple and complex mathematics can be simultaneously.

Besides, he shared with the students how he himself became interested in the subject, his journey in studying this discipline, his mistakes, and his successes.

Further, a Q&A session was held, during which the participants demonstrated excellent engagement, considerable interest and a good understanding of the discipline. 

Concluding the event, the distinguished guest urged his future colleagues to conduct independent research in this field, to be able to critically evaluate information and to provide well-reasoned justifications for their viewpoints.

At the end of the gathering, the students expressed their gratitude to the professor for the experience gained. This meeting served as a powerful impetus for fresh inspiration and increased student interest in knowledge.
