A person who studied water management

A scientific and educational conference dedicated to the memory of Madelkhan Nalibayev, an Honored Hydro Technician of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a highly qualified specialist in the field of water management, was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University in collaboration with the public association "Syr Murasy".

The conference, titled "The state of water management in Kyzylorda region and scientific and practical justifications for its improvement", analyzed the technical condition of irrigated lands within the irrigation system.

At the plenary session, reports were heard on such important topics as "Forecast data on the state of the water balance in the Syr Darya-Aral Sea Basin during the 2026 vegetation period", "Scientific and practical justifications for the efficient use of water resources", and "The state of training of higher and secondary education personnel for water management and issues of their professional development".

Madelkhan Nalibayev expressed a thought that remains relevant to this day: "Ecology is the sum of all environmental diseases related to water, exacerbated by mutual influence. If we want to overcome the ecological crisis, we must increase the efficiency of using all available water resources and 'treat' the environment with water. It is necessary to transform Syrdarya into a unified engineering system by installing locks, water-measuring posts, and automatic devices for opening and closing water supply at the mouths of canals that directly draw life-giving force from the river".

Scientists and water resource specialists who participated in the conference supported the position on the need to be guided by the methodological works of Madelkhan Nalibayev in the scientific improvement of irrigation in the region. The need for training specialists who are equally proficient in both water resources and agriculture was also noted.
