NEW EDITION OF THE CONSTITUTION PRESENTED TO THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY BY THE PRESIDENT

A formal ceremony was held at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to present the new edition of the Constitution to the academic community on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The event marked the entry into force of the new version of the Constitution on 1 July.

Representatives of the academic community, experts, legal scholars and academic staff from higher education institutions, who have contributed to the interpretation and implementation of the Constitution, attended the ceremony.

On behalf of the President, the new edition was presented to representatives of the academic community, with particular emphasis placed on the exceptional importance of the Constitution in the life of society. The meeting paid tribute to the efforts of citizens who had actively participated in widely explaining the constitutional reforms to the public.

Speaking at the event, the Minister for Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, emphasised that the Constitution is a solid foundation for the country’s independence and sustainable development. In his words, conveying the content of the Constitution to the people in simple and understandable language is a shared responsibility. Between February and June this year, around 2,500 events were held across the country to explain the constitutional reforms, with professors and lecturers from higher education institutions playing an active role.
